flexible toughening resin application with Aertuo resin

Product Overview

Flexible and toughening unsaturated polyester resins are specialty additives that modify standard rigid UPR formulations to improve impact strength, elongation, and crack resistance. The 46-series flexible modifiers can be blended at 5–20% into general purpose, pultrusion, or casting resins to create composite parts that withstand mechanical shock, thermal cycling, and hail impact without catastrophic failure.

Common Challenges

error_outline

Brittle cracking on impact during transport and installation causes high part rejection rates

error_outline

Shattering of outdoor FRP parts in hail-prone regions leads to premature field failure and warranty claims

error_outline

Vibration fatigue causes micro-crack propagation in transportation and industrial equipment components

error_outline

Low elongation at break in standard formulations limits application in flexible joint and seal systems

Our Solution

Aertuo's 46-series flexible and toughening modifiers provide a simple drop-in solution for upgrading impact resistance. 46-89A offers general-purpose flexibility enhancement, 46-K1 provides higher elongation for demanding applications, and 46-K42 delivers maximum toughness for extreme impact conditions. Simply blend at 5–20% into your base resin system to achieve the desired balance of stiffness and flexibility without compromising processability.
